Chairman

Angus Rowe, Chairman of Schindlers Digital Assets, is a seasoned director with an impressive track record of developing and leading multiple successful companies. Throughout his career, Angus has strategically built businesses from the ground up, steering them to success and eventually facilitating their acquisition. His entrepreneurial vision and business expertise have positioned him as a respected leader in the industry.

In addition to his corporate achievements, Angus is deeply committed to philanthropy, actively supporting and guiding charitable organizations to create meaningful impact in their communities. His dedication to social responsibility reflects his belief in using business as a force for good. Angus holds postgraduate qualifications from Harvard Business School in the United States, further strengthening his strategic and leadership skills, which he now brings to Schindlers Digital Assets, driving the company forward in the dynamic digital economy.

Chief Executive Officer

Candice is a highly accomplished attorney who has excelled in her career since joining Bowmans, one of South Africa’s leading law
firms, in 2001.

With an impressive educational background, including a BComm degree from Rhodes University and an LLB degree from the University of Johannesburg (formerly RAU), Candice has built a strong foundation in law and business.

She has further expanded her expertise by becoming an accredited Mediator Court Aligned and Commercial Mediator through the prestigious University of Cape Town.

Candice is currently deep learning to become a Certified Blockchain
Expert and studying Blockchain through Consenys Academy.

Chief Development Officer

Melvin Chagonda is an accomplished business leader with extensive experience in finance, strategy, and entrepreneurship. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Rhodes University and an Honours B Compt from UNISA. Melvin has held key roles, including Chief Accountant at Vodacom, where he managed R8 billion in revenue, and CEO of Primedia @ Home, leading over 3,000 employees across multiple countries.

As an entrepreneur, he founded Moben Africa, establishing a free Wi-Fi network servicing over a million users monthly across 14 African countries. Most recently, he served as Chief Strategist for Upgrade Energy Africa, driving renewable energy projects across Southern Africa. Melvin is also deeply committed to social impact through youth mentorship, community projects, and investments in small businesses.

Chief Corporate Structuring Officer

Lisa was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 2000 and heads up the commercial law department at Schindlers. Lisa has numerous foreign, multi-national and South African clients and advises them on a wide range of general corporate areas including the negotiation and drafting of commercial transactions, providing opinions and local compliance.

Her experience includes but is not limited to mergers and acquisitions, trade finance, cross border transactions, finance, corporate governance, capitalisation transactions, cross border finance, lending and syndicated lending, specialised finance, aviation, service agreements, joint ventures and licensing agreements.

Chief Corporate Structuring Officer

Daniella completed her articles with Schindlers and was admitted as an attorney in the High Court of South Africa in December 2013.

Daniella started her articles in the conveyancing department and thereafter served the remainder of her articles in the family law department where she gained experience in various family matters, including divorce, maintenance and ancillary matters thereto.

Since her admission Daniella has worked in the commercial department of Schindlers and specialises in drafting and negotiating of commercial transactions and her experience in this regard includes trade finance transactions, cross border transactions, lending, and other commercial matters related thereto.

Lisa is a qualified attorney with over 13 years’ experience and a well-established practice in commercial litigation. She has been involved in several reported judgments in the High Court.

Lisa has extensive experience in insolvency law and has successfully run numerous enquiries related to commercial fraud, breaches of fiduciary duties and other unlawful transactions. In addition to the aforesaid, she has led several successful forensic investigations in respect of fraudulent and other unlawful activities. Lisa played a significant role in the first ever judgment handed down in terms of which a director was declared to be delinquent. In addition to the aforesaid, she was the lead attorney in a relatively recent reported judgement which determined the rights of employees during business rescue proceedings.

Lisa also specialises in administrative law and has been the lead attorney in matters in which unlawful tender awards were successfully set aside, thereby saving tax-payers hundreds of millions of Rands. On the other side of the coin, she has successfully defended lawful tender awards made to her clients.

Lisa has a keen interest in fintech and the legalities surrounding blockchain transactions and has advised several clients in this regard.

Finally she has obtained numerous successful outcomes for her clients in various medical negligence and personal injury matters.
